I'g in the process of quieting the motorcar back down a little since I accept a muffler de lete and thoroughly bask that racket. I also noticed how much dirtier the engine bay got without the oem snorkel (I don't live in the city) so I wanted to put that piece back on. Last reason for doing this is that I think having two dirty filters is unappealing and cleaning them both is redundant.

I however own my DCI and will go back if I'm unhappy with the outcome so for at present, they won't be for sale. The upgr8 filter was 18 dollars and I went into this with open expectations. hopefully the uploads plough out decent.

At the time of this video I had a failing curlicue so I couldn't really make the N54 breathe.
OEM air box almost didn't fit back on with the improver of a bigger vacuum port.

And then basically, the DCI is gone and the stock airbox is used with some kind of after market high flow filter?

Right, information technology'southward an OEM replacement. This filter is dry out different 1000&n that uses a dressing.

Nifty- Cheers for this, just pulled the trigger on 1.
At just $17 it's a no brainer to pick i up to play with compared to the $95 AFE dry filter.

I asked Martial at MHD if driblet in's qualified as an intake for his tunes. He confirmed and said that most guys over seas (not united states of america) in fact use a drop in. Thought I'd mention it.

To make sure I'grand agreement you lot correctly, the stock airbox with a loftier-flow filter qualifies as an "intake" for MHD OTS tunes the same as dual cones?

If that setup flows well, I might throw my stock airbox back on and install some scoops.

FWIW I had a take a chance to wait at mine last weekend when installing a charge pipe. Right at thirty days and simply over grand miles isn't particularly long, still the filter looked fine and the clean areas of the airbox were clean equally they should exist. The n54 is behaving fine, fuel trims are all in order, typically inside viii, almost always between 0 & +8 somewhere. I haven't yet bothered to look at for increased airflow, simply since I'm not really pushing very hard I don't expect to run across any dramatic increases, more simply easier to exercise what it was already doing...

That is correct, he said DCI isn't nearly every bit popular over seas as I think. Scoops are controversial but I practise desire a set myself. What color was my biggest hold up lol.

Glad to hear the positive feedback, and I agree, never bought this looking for max gains.. merely an alternative to the filters mentioned above.

poor wording on my part :)
Wasn't thinking of power gains- I'grand still in MAF based tuning fashion from many years tuning mazdaspeeds, then still getting used to the speed density style of thinking every bit natural. In my post in a higher place I was thinking just in terms of airflow gains seen equally MAF grams per second, which isn't, strictly speaking, proper for a MAP sensor and speed density of the N54.

So, not really expecting more than power, only the same power (load targets) more easily achieved.

Very well worded this fourth dimension. :D

((sigh...)) well, crap, not actually :D I ended up saying the same affair I was trying to fix! My explanation was close enough, but that last sentence was still whacked.
....not really expecting more ability, just the same power (load targets) more than easily achieved.

So, despite the fact that I seem to go along saying or implying ability gains, I actually but mean airflow increases. I wasn't expecting to see higher peak g/s, rather to see roughly the same trending values, just more easily reached, since I don't think I was stressing the elevation abilities of the original filter....

Man I demand to go some sleep- This was all much easier in my head!! lolz
I proceed typing around here and eventually ya'll volition start reading what I'm thinking :D

((sigh...)) well, crap, non really :D I concluded up saying the aforementioned thing I was trying to ready! My explanation was shut plenty, only that last sentence was still whacked.

And so, despite the fact that I seem to continue saying or implying power gains, I really just hateful airflow increases. I wasn't expecting to come across higher peak g/due south, rather to come across roughly the same trending values, simply more easily reached, since I don't think I was stressing the meridian abilities of the original filter....

Human I need to go some sleep- This was all much easier in my head!! lolz
I keep typing around here and somewhen ya'll will starting time reading what I'yard thinking :D

It's all good man I'm the same way peculiarly when I hit the forums afterward my third shift task. :p

Just over 9K miles on this filter now and still looks like new.
